Washington, DC (August 30, 2016) – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Pearce issued the following statement regarding the work done this Congress supporting solar energy:
“In a state like New Mexico, energy is vital to our way of life. Whether that is oil, gas, wind, nuclear or solar – all are important to our local economy and contribute to our investment in our local communities.
I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many New Mexicans and am pleased to share the following updates: This Congress, I’ve supported a bill directing federal agencies to make solar energy a priority on federal lands. This is important for our state, since approximately thirty-four percent of lands in New Mexico are owned by the federal government. We’ve also proposed tax credits for people utilizing energy efficient homes and commercial buildings. The fight for energy abundance and independence is not over, and I will continue to make sure New Mexicans are heard in Washington,” said Congressman Pearce.
