Harry Teague Announces Affordable-Housing Funding for Silver City

-

Washington, DC – June 10, 2010 – (RealEstateRama) — Today, Congressman Harry Teague announced that the town of Silver City will receive nearly $600,000 to build new affordable housing units. The grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a part of the Economic Development Initiative (EDI), will fund the construction of the Vistas de Plata complex. The new affordable-housing complex will house 56 new units.

“In these tough economic times, it’s critical that we continue to support programs that offer affordable housing to hard working families,” said Harry Teague. “Projects like the Vistas de Plata complex enhance both our communities infrastructure through the new housing units, and our local economy through the jobs we are creating. I’m pleased that Silver City will be able to put this funding towards an initiative that will have a lasting effect on the community and the economy.”
